Job application – Job Status: Active (Accepting Job Submissions). Meaning?

People Reviews

I submitted a job application and I recently lost my ability to edit or withdraw my submission. My submission also shows that it was updated on the same day I lost those features (even though I did not update anything). The job posting currently shows “Active (Accepting Job Submissions).” The job was removed from the public online job board several weeks ago, so I assume they are accepting submissions from internal associates? Does anyone know what this means? I did not receive a rejection e-mail so I figure I am still in the running.

The status means that they are still accepting applications. The fact that you can’t edit your submission probably means that the person doing the hiring is/has already viewing(ed) your application. It’s basically just like if you walked into a business and handed them the application. Usually you wouldn’t be able to come back later and say “Um…actually I want to change something on there.” Just because the job status is still active does not mean you’re out of the running. They just want to get as many qualified applicants as possible to have a good pool to choose from.

Submissions Definition

Any modification or adjustment to a job or the work environment that will enable a qualified person with a disability to participate in the application process and to perform essential job functions.

What our team says

Job application – Job Status: Active (Accepting Job Submissions). Meaning?

Job seekers who have applied for a job and see the job status as “Active (Accepting Job Submissions)” may be wondering what that means. The job is still open, and the employer is still reviewing applications and interviewing candidates. However, the job may not be listed on the website any longer.

What does

“job status: active (accepting job submissions)” mean?

When a job is marked as “active (accepting job submissions),” it means that the employer is still considering candidates for the role and is open to receiving new applications. This is in contrast to a job that is “inactive,” which means that the employer is no longer looking for new applicants.

If you’re interested in a particular role that has this status, be sure to submit your application as soon as possible. Employers may close the position at any time once they’ve found enough qualified candidates, so you don’t want to delay in putting your name forward.

How to know if a job is still active

If you’re job hunting, you might come across a listing that says “Job Status: Active (Accepting Job Submissions).” But what does that mean?

Essentially, it means that the company is still actively accepting applications for the position. So if you’re interested in the role, go ahead and apply!

Of course, it’s always a good idea to check the listing carefully to make sure it’s still active before you go through the trouble of applying. Sometimes companies leave old listings up on job boards even after they’ve stopped accepting submissions.

But if the listing is current and says “Active (Accepting Job Submissions),” that means you should go for it!

How to submit a job application

When you find a job that interests you, it is important to follow the instructions in the job posting for how to apply. Many employers will want you to submit a job application through their online system, but some may still accept applications via email or snail mail.

If an employer asks you to submit a job application through their online system, you will usually need to create an account and fill out an online form. Be sure to have all of the required information (such as your contact information, work history, etc.) ready before beginning the application process, as it can be time consuming.

Once you have submitted your job application, it is important to check the status of your application to see if it has been received and is being processed. Many employers will acknowledge receipt of your application and provide you with a reference number or case number that you can use to check the status of your application.

If an employer does not provide you with a way to check the status of your job application, you can try contacting them directly to inquire about the status of your application. However, be aware that employers receive many applications and may not be able to respond to each one individually.
