What is hadite and how is a hadite block made?

Seeking the difference between a concrete block and a hadite block. Hadite seems to be a clay substance, need more information. Seeking information on manufacture of hadite blocks. Advantages of using hadite blocks to build houses? Where is hadite “mined” or obtained? Thank you.

Haydite is the rock equivalent of turface and comes in different colors (brown or gray mostly) depending upon what local you obtain it from. Historically, it is the primary ingredient used in the manufacture of concrete blocks to make them lighter. Haydite is actually expanded pieces of shale or slate. The term “expanded” means it has been heated to over 2000 degrees which causes this already porous rock to become even more porous.
