What is AFM-900-3 on DD-214?

People Reviews

My Grandfather served in the Air Force during Vietnam in Guam. On his dd-214 one award was listed twice, the AFM 900-3. I am in the Army, and was unable to conclude exactly what an AFM 900-3 was. I would like to make him a shadow box and get his medals correct. I appreciate the help very much.

AFM is an acronym for Air Force Manual. The 900-3 tells you what manual it is.

It’s an Air Force manual reference for an administrative separation. That’s what AFM 39-10 refers to. The paragraph 3_8q (COG) refers to a separation for the convenience of the government, which is pretty ambiguous. You’d also have been given a separation status, like honorable, general, etc. and a reenlistment code RE-2 or RE-3.

I believe AFM 900-3 is the manual that authorizes the awarding of medals such as the National Defense Service Medal.

It is actually not an award.

I hope that I am not duplicating my replay here. I just posted this, but it doesn’t seem to be showing up. I know that this question was posted a long time ago, but I went looking for the same answer when I was looking at my own DD214. It turns out to be the “Air Force Outstanding Unit Award”. does it have anything to do with serving in viet nam

What our team says

What is AFM-900-3 on DD-214?

The DD-214 is the most important document a veteran can possess. This form, also known as the Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, verifies military service and includes information such as dates of service, awards received, decorations, and more. So what does AFM-900-3 mean on a DD-214?

What is AFM-900-3?

AFM-900-3 is an advanced form of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that uses a very powerful magnet to produce high-resolution images of the inside of your body.

The main advantage of AFM-900-3 over other types of MRI is that it can provide more detailed images of small structures, such as the nerves in your brain.

AFM-900-3 is also able to detect very slight changes in the structure of your tissues. This makes it an important tool for diagnosing diseases and conditions such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

If you are scheduled for an AFM-900-3 scan, you will need to arrive at the hospital or clinic where the scan will be performed about 30 minutes early. This will give you time to fill out any necessary paperwork and to change into a gown.

During the scan, you will lie on a table that slides into the magnet. You will be able to hear and see the machine during the scan, but you will not feel any discomfort. The whole process usually takes about 45 minutes.

What does it mean for veterans?

1. What does it mean for veterans?

For veterans, AFM can mean a few different things. First, it can be short for “Air Force Manual,” which is a set of guidelines that Air Force personnel must follow. Second, AFM can also stand for “Asset Forfeiture Manager.” This is a position within the Air Force that is responsible for overseeing the seizure and forfeiture of assets that are associated with criminal activity.

How can veterans get help with this condition?

There is no known cure for AFM, but there are treatments available that can help to ease symptoms and improve quality of life. Physical therapy and occupational therapy can help to improve muscle strength and coordination. There are also medications that can help to relieve pain and spasms.

Veterans can get help with AFM through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The VA provides medical care and benefits to veterans with disabilities, including those with AFM. They also offer a wide range of other services, such as education benefits, career counseling, and more.

Conclusion

The AFM-900-3 is a code on the DD-214, which is the discharge form for military members. The code stands for “air force medal of honor recipient,” and it indicates that the person who was discharged was awarded the medal of honor while they were in the air force.
