Sickle Cell Anemia only attacks blacks. He was just trying to tell his friend to remember who his friends are. Remember, his friend makes a comment like Animal is a great guy in a fire fight just so long as we can continue to keep having people lob hand grenades at him for the rest of his life. It was just a parting shot at a friend.

Animal Mother Full Metal Jacket

(((K))) There’s so much in this question ~ i know it’s come from the heart of longing, longing to love and be loved *smiling* All i can say at the mo is: I know the longing you speak of ~ i am able to express my heart with my Lord, and others, well, some more than others, if you know what i mean :)) ~~~ ~~~ ~~~ I believe He makes us hungry, it comes from Him, b’c He longs for deeper intimacy with us and creates a hunger within us. The intimacy between a man and a woman is an expression of God’s love and desire ~ it’s something quite beautiful! ~ this is why in God’s plan of marriage when two people are brought/joined together the purpose is for HIS glory to be seen ~ a marriage that radiates God’s *glory*. When one has either been given a vision of this or experienced this, there is a deep longing for more. For some, there is no fulfillment in this life – some are unable to catch the vision b’c spiritual eyes are dim, some fail to see they can have it all – some have been so hurt, they close off the route to the heart, and never trust God to give them their hearts desires. Psalm 37:4 Delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. This is a personal promise the Lord gave me a lot of yrs ago, i trust Him to fulfill, it’s never to late! The best is yet to come! Heb 11:1 AMP Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of the reality(faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses). It’s a beautiful question, so much to ponder ~ OK, i think i’m done now sorry i may have got side-tracked, but i enjoyed this question so much and you gave me a wonderful opportunity to share what’s in my own heart. TY sis. ~ A beautiful question ~ All God’s favour to you xx Ps 42 As the deer pants and longs for the water brooks, so I pant and long after You oh God. My inner self thirsts for God, for the living God, when shall I come and behold the face of God.

Sickle cell anemia is a harmful condition that is predominant in African-Americans. Because Animal Mother was racist, he was thanking God for sickle cell anemia affecting the life of black people. Saying that was expressing his hate toward the african american soldier. Also, with sickle cell anemia, one cannot enlist, keeping more black people out of the armed services.

What our team says

In the movie Full Metal Jacket, what did Animal Mother mean when he said; “Thank God for the sickle cell”

Sickle cell anemia is a genetic disorder that causes red blood cells to have a copy of the sickle gene. Normally, these sickle cells help blood flow through vessels by aiding in the transport of oxygen. However, when these cells are circulating in the bloodstream, they can cause painful blockages or even strokes. In Full Metal Jacket, Animal Mother (portrayed by R. Lee Ermey) is a veteran Sgt. in the US Marine Corps and a member of the “Amphibious Ready Group” (ARG). ARG is a unit made up of tough Marines who are specially trained to handle any situation that might come their way – including combat with the enemy on land and at sea. When Animal Mother’s team is sent to fight in Vietnam, he remarks; “Thank God for the sickle cell” because this condition gives his men an advantage over their enemies. While Sickle Cell Anemia is no longer considered a lethal disease, it still affects millions of people around the world and can be quite debilitating. So, while it may not be as popular as it once was, Animal Mother’s sentiment remains true – “Thank God for the sickle cell

What is Sickle Cell?

Sickle cell anemia is an inherited blood disorder. The red blood cells in people with sickle cell anemia have a characteristic shape that makes them difficult to move through the body’s circulatory system. This can cause problems with breathing, heart function, and the formation of clots.

The term “sickle cell” comes from the sickles on the cells’ outer surface. These sickles are what make the red blood cells unique. Hemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen throughout the body, is organized into globular structures called ferritin granules. Each ferritin granule contains around 30 spherical heme molecules.

Normally, each round heme molecule is paired with a protein called hemoglobin A (HbA) near the center of the ferritin granule. When oxygen binds to one of the heme molecules, it forms a porphyrin ring around the heme molecule. This porphyrin ring has a magnesium atom at its center and a carbon atom at either end.

The other end of this porphyrin ring attaches to two other proteins called haemoglobin S (HbS) and hemoglobin C (HbC). Hemoglobin S

The History of Sickle Cell

In the movie Full Metal Jacket, what did Animal Mother mean when he said; “Thank God for the sickle cell”? Sickle cell anemia is a blood disease caused by a genetic mutation in one of the hemoglobin proteins. This mutation causes sickled cells to form in the blood, which can block bloodflow and lead to life-threatening conditions. The phrase “thank God for the sickle cell” is often used to reflect the positive aspects of this disease, such as its survivability.

How Does Sickle Cell Affect People?

Sickle cell anemia is a genetic disorder caused by a gene mutation that affects the red blood cells. People with sickle cell disease have abnormal hemoglobin, which causes their red blood cells to be shaped like sickles.

People with sickle cell disease can have serious health problems if they do not receive regular medical care. Some of the most common complications include stroke, heart attack, and pulmonary embolism (a blockage in the large artery that carries oxygen-rich blood to the lungs). In some cases, sickle cell anemia can be fatal.

Fortunately, Sickle Cell Disease is usually treatable with regular medical care. People who have sickle cell anemia should make sure to get regular checkups and treatment for any infections they may develop.

The Positive Aspects of Having Sickle Cell

When Animal Mother says “Thank God for the sickle cell” in Full Metal Jacket, he is referring to the positive aspects of having sickle cell. Sickle cell anemia is a genetic disorder that affects red blood cells. People with sickle cell have a particular type of hemoglobin, which causes their red blood cells to be abnormally shaped and difficult to move through the body.

Some people with sickle cell experience no symptoms at all. Others may experience pain and difficulty breathing. But despite all these challenges, people with sickle cell remain fiercely independent and determined. They know that having this disorder is a part of who they are, and they are proud of it.

People with sickle cell are able to enjoy many normal activities, despite their health challenges. They can travel, work, and raise families as usual. In fact, many people with sickle cell have unique experiences that make them unique individuals.

So what does Animal Mother mean when he says “Thank God for the sickle cell”? He is thanking God for giving people with this disorder the strength to overcome any obstacle.

The Negative Aspects of Having Sickle Cell

Animal Mother’s statement in Full Metal Jacket, “Thank God for the sickle cell,” is a popular saying that has a negative connotation. Sickle cell anemia is a genetic disorder that causes red blood cells to have a crescent-shaped shape. This shape makes the cells more susceptible to breaking, which can cause serious complications including stroke and heart attack. In addition, sickle cell patients are at a higher risk of other health problems such as malaria, tuberculosis, and pneumonia.

While having sickle cell may be seen as a blessing by some people, it can be a life-threatening disease for others. The phrase “Thank God for the sickle cell” implies that those with the disorder are lucky and deserve to be grateful for their illness. This is not always the case, as sickle cell can severely impact someone’s life if not treated properly.

Conclusion

In the movie Full Metal Jacket, Private Joker says this to R. Lee Ermey’s character, Sgt. Hartman: “Thank God for the sickle cell. You know, some people have a lot of heart and some people have a lot of black blood.” What does this quote mean? This quote is most likely referring to the fact that not everyone is cut out to be in the military. Sgt. Hartman is white and educated, while many of Joker’s fellow recruits are black and uneducated rabble-rousers who do not belong in the military at all. It shows that race doesn’t always matter when it comes to qualifications for service in the military – all that matters is how you perform on duty.
