A second season hasn’t been announced yet, but since the first season just ended, that’s normal. While second seasons are occasionally announced right away, it’s much more common for months or even a couple of years to pass before anything is announced. A lot of it will probably depend on how well the DVD/BDs sell, and the first volume was only just released a few days ago. Based on preorders, sales are not expected to be that good, unfortunately, though we wont have a good idea of how much it’s really selling for several months, as the other volumes are released. Even then, high/low sales are never an absolute guarantee of anything.

It’s based on a light novel series, which is is ongoing.

Anime is usually made to ultimately make the audience have interest in the original source material be it light novel or manga.

Just like movies of comic books or books are there to make people interesting in the comics or books.

Example: Superhero movies -> DC Comics and Marvel Comics
Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings movies are there to promote selling and success of the books.

All of you do NOT understand how the Animation or Manga industry works here in Japan. If a anime following season is not announced while IN PRODUCTION it usually means no new shows will be made. No media show ever goes years before an announcement like Mandy has replied. Sorry that is incorrect also they do not go by sales. Here in Japan everything is by popularity and viewership while on air, this is something most Gaijins never understand. btw I am born and raised Japanese but I have Japanese American family and I also did a couple of years in US university where I stuided english, I also have a sister who works in the anime industry. Most of what is done etc in Japan is decided by Japanese not the west I mean the anime/manga industry does not care what happens outside Japan that is why you have declining anime licenses in the US etc.

So point is a lot of shows end like this some even worse off but if just the way anime and mangas. Again we are not like the west also anime is only very small part of our media industry they also do not make millions like western media it is why we have new shows and books nearly every month or a very large amount most of it western viewers never see or hear about. And proof is this question was 3+ yrs ago and just like I said this show is all but forgotten, its sad but thats how anime is if Japanese fans dont like it they usually end up like this.
