I plan on using it in college and i might go on trails and off road some too. Is it any good for off roading if i put mountain bike wheels and treads on it?
I bought DBX Men’s Crestwood Comfort Bicycle because I needed to get back and forth to work on a daily basis. It is a very comfortable ride. Very easy to work on. However, the parts used(even though they’re Shimano) are very cheeply made. The shifter on the handle bars doesn’t seem to work correctly. The de-railer likes to choose a gear for me, and the head set loves to loosen up on me. Also it came with slightly bent rims. Not overly impressed with the purchase, but it will hack it for now. If I was to do this over I would not have purchased this bike.

This bike is not designed for off road riding. You really can’t expect much from a bike that sells for under $200 brand new. If you plan on changing wheels and tires you could spend more than the full cost of this bike. Consult a real bike shop to get a more realistic idea about what you should buy
My DBX Crestwood bike is great.. It rides very smoothly. I bought it at ᗪıc̫ҡ’s Sport. It shifted poorly and the rear brake rubbed. I had to retune and re adjust the entire bike. The rear rim also has a slight wobble but it is a department store throw down bike that I purchased on sale for $125.00. It rides as smooth as my Cannondale, GT and Gary Fisher. not as good but every bit as smooth. Do not take this bike off road for any reason. It is a inexpensive commuter and for that purpose it is a home run. I may have to get my rim trued at a reputable bike shop but it is a $20. expense . You can purchase Schwins at Walmart cheaper.

I like my ɴᴀκᴇᴅ version Suzuki Bandit 1200. It can hang in there with most sport bikes in the twisties, tour comfortably with some soft lugɡɑɡe, tank bag, and a small removable screen, and with 110HP and 70+ ft/lbs of torque accellerate pretty good.(high 10’s-low 11’s). Rational ergonomics, with standard handlebars and rear set pegs, comfortable seat. Older bullet proof GSXR oil/air cooled engine, means parts availablity, easy to work on, simple to maintain. No shims under valves, no computer, no anti-freeze, and no bodywork to remove to get at things. To me it looks like a motorcycle, engine right there, between 2 tires. The faired version gets some wind protection at the cost of a few pounds, and a bit softer suspension if you wanted more of a sport tourer. ( think that other guy up there that had bad luck with his, forgot to mention he probably turned the petc̫o̫ςκ to prime overnight, otherwise the fuel doesn’t flow without the engine running, on the regular position)

I bought this bike for a cheap price at ᗪıc̫ҡ s and the crank arm came off very quickly. I brought it back to ᗪıc̫ҡ s and it came off again very quickly. I recommend buying it with a warranty type of insurance.
