HARRY POTTER FANS!!! What are some Hermione Granger monologues?

People Reviews

I need a monologue for Hermione Granger for my drama class. It has to be 2 minutes in length. I can’t find any online except the one beginning train scene where she asks if anyone has seen a toad. I need one longer than that. Are there any other monologues from her? Please help

This is from the book and I edited it a bit because she does converse between sections but I tied it up the best i could:
Are you sure that’s a real spell? Well, it’s not very good, is it? I’ve tried a few simple spells just for practice and it’s all worked for me. Nobody in my family’s magic at all, it was ever such a surprise when I got my letter, but I was ever so pleased, of course, I mean, it’s the very best school of witchcraft there is, I’ve heard. I’ve learned all of our course books by heart, of course, I just hope it will be enough – I’m Hermione Granger by the way, who are you? You’re Harry Potter?! Are you really? I know all about you, I got a few extra books for background reading, and you’re in “Modern Magical History” and “The Rise and Fall of the Dark Arts” and “Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century”. Goodness, you honestly didn’t know that that? I’d have found out everything I could if it was me. Do either of you know what house you’ll be in? I’ve been asking around, and I hope I’m in Gryffindor, it sounds by far the best; I hear Dumbledore himself was in it, but I suppose Ravenclaw wouldn’t be too bad… Anyway, I’d better go and look for Neville’s toad. You two had better change, I expect we’ll be arriving soon.

“Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville has lost one! [Turns to the side] Oh, are you doing magic? Let’s see then….[reacts to Ron’s crappy spell]…Are you sure that’s a real spell? Well, it’s not very good, is it? I’ve tried a few simple spells myself and they’ve all worked for me! For example: Oculus Reparo. That’s better isn’t it? Holy cricket! You’re Harry Potter! I’m Hermione Granger. And you are…? Pleasure. Well, nobody in my family’s magic at all, and it was ever such a surprise when I got my letter, but I was ever so pleased of course. It’s the best school of witchcraft there is, I’ve heard! You two better get into your robes. I expect we’ll be arriving soon. You’ve dirt on your nose by the way. Just there.

OMG so cool you are doing Harry Potter I want to go to your drama class
But I’d suggest doing Dolores Umbridge:
“The Ministry of Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be of vital importance. The rare gifts with which you were born may come to nothing if not nurtured and honed by careful instruction. The ancient skills unique to the wizarding community must be passed down the generations lest we lose them for ever. The treasure trove of magical knowledge amassed by our ancestors must be guarded, replenished and polished by those who have been called to the noble profession of teaching.Every headmaster and headmistress of Hogwarts has brought something new to the wheighty task of governing this historic school, and that is as it should be, for without progress there will be stagnation and decay. There again, progress for progress’s sake must be discouraged, for our tried and tested traditions often require no tinkering. A balance, then, between old and new, between permanence and change, between tradition and innovation because some changes will be for the better, while others will come, in the fullness of time, to be recognised as errors of judgement. Meanwhile, some old habits will be retained, and rightly so, whereas others, outmoded and outworn, must be abandoned. Let us move forward, then, into a new era of openness, effectiveness and accountability, intent on preserving what ought to be preserved, perfecting what needs to be perfected, and pruning wherever we find practices that ought to be prohibited.”
ALSO, I’d suggest reading HP4 or HP5, well, where she talked about the house elves. That’s a monologue I can think of.

A letter to Ron:
“Dear Ron, and Harry if you’re there,
“I hope everything went all right and that Harry is okay and that you didn’t do anything illegal to get him out, Ron, because that would get Harry into trouble, too.
I’ve been really worried and if Harry is all right, will you please let me know at once, but perhaps it would be better if you used a different owl, because I think another delivery might finish your one off.
I’m very busy with my schoolwork, of course’ —‘and we’re going to London next Wednesday to buy my new books. Why don’t we meet in Diagon Alley?
Let me know what’s happening as soon as you can. Love from Hermione.”
Ranting to Ron about Cho’s feelings
“Well, obviously, she’s feeling very sad, because of Cedric dying. Then i expect she’s feeling confused because she liked Cedric and now she likes Harry, and she can’t work out who she likes best. Then she’ll be feeling guilty, thinking it’s an insult to Cedric’s memory to be kissing Harry at all, and she’ll be worrying about what everyone else might say about her if she starts going out with Harry . And she probably can’t work out what her feelings towards Harry are anyway, because he was the one who was with Cedric when Cedric died, so that’s all very mixed up and painful. Oh, and she’s afraid she’s going to be thrown off the Ravenclaw Quidditch team because she’s flying so badly.”
A slightly stunned silence greeted the end of this speech, then Ron said,” One person can’t feel all that at once, they’d explode.”

How about the infamous Cho rant she does in Order of the Phoenix right after Harry and Cho kiss. It’s fairly long and funny to read.
