The performers need the stage, the finished product needs its makers.
I don’t connect crew to team, as crew IS a team (cast isn’t the stage, so the comparison isn’t equal, consistent)
OR, crew is to BEHIND THE CURTAIN/SCENES as cast is to stage.
That sounds more common, actually.
