I saw it used in an anime and I think it’s from Faust, but I am not sure at all…thank you!
Your correct, its Faust. I expect you have somewhat of a mistranslation though, since according to everything else ive looked at the correct line is “stay, thou art so beautiful!”.
From Wiki:
“The story concerns the fate of Faust in his quest for the true essence of life (“was die Welt im Innersten zusammenhält”). Frustrated with learning and the limits to his knowledge, power, and enjoyment of life, he attracts the attention of the devil (represented by Mephistopheles), who agrees to serve Faust until the moment he attains so the zenith of human happiness that he cries out to that moment to “stay, thou art so beautiful!” (Faust, I, l.1700) — at which point Mephistopheles may take his soul. Faust is pleased with the deal, as he believes this happy zenith will never come.”
Ah it was also (part) of episode 25’s name “Stop, Time”. The only problem is, that was translated to english in 2013, if I am not mistaken (according to the dates shown) that question was asked about 3 years ago (from May 2015) which puts the question at 2012. The episode was done in english on year LATER. Even if it was a bootleg, i dont think you can get it earlier than the release dates, unless you are talking about the subtitled versions which came out 2011. I dont think this guy watches blue exorcist… maybe blew exorcist sorry cheap shot at “thou”
Faust Quote
It’s from the last episode (Ep. 25) of Blue Exorcist (Ao No Exorcist). It was said at minute 15, second 30.
