where is Pon Yup?

is there any one who knows or heared about Pon Yup? which was in China, but which part and what’s its recent name?

Pon Yup is Cantonese. in Manderin Chinese it is Panyu. (番禺)

Panyu city is under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province in China. It lies in at the heart of the Pearl River Delta area.

Heard of it before, it was a separate district in China, apparently a lot of first wave Chinese immigrants to the US in the 1800s and early 1900s came from that area.
