What is the Wise Installation Wizard?

NOD32 alerted me that this was malware (a trojan or a virus) so I deleted it. Is the Wise Installation Wizard dangerous or was this simply a false positive?

It’s a packager, for the lack of a better term, that some developers use to package their applications so people can run them. Wise has been around for some time and I really doubt they are adding viruses or spyware in their little packaging program. It is possible that a file inside the package is infected.

Just like you put stuff in a box and ship it, wise installer is like the box you use as a container to hold different files that the developers are trying to distribute.

Wise Installer

Wise Installation package has been around for a long time.It is small, simple, and once understood,
Easy to use for installing just about anything. Its very close to the program called Install Creator, or
EasyBCD. They all have one purpose in mind, creating a point and click installation package on the
Files you involve. Hope this helps, and yes, Wise is safe to use, but be careful where you get the
Program from .

Wise installation Wizard is not a program on your hard drive. You see, when you (un)install software, you’re running a program called Wise Installation Wizard that knows what to do to install/uninstall the software you want. To explain it another way, Wise Installation Wizard is the program that installs other software. It’s not installed on your C drive, it is part of your software and deletes your software when asked. It deletes itself in the process of uninstalling your software, and cannot be removed separately because that would be like removing your brain from your body. It just doesn’t work.

Was it Wise, or a product *installed* with Wise?

With Wise, you can install virtually anything, so yes, maybe a virus was attempted t o be installed.

Wise is very cheap compared to InstallShield, but cruder (and simpler than InstallShield.

Loks like a big file. Would it be wise (No pun, please) to delete it?
