As of today, does the total amount of your (and your spouse’s) current assets exceed $0.00?
You will need to include any money you have in checking/savings/cash or investments, but you don’t include the value of the home you live in or retirement accounts. And yep, when it asks for your checking/savings, they just want the total amount you have in the bank as of today.
