I heard the word and can’t seem to find the meaning. It’s related to music I think, I don’t know.
Tablo fan, huh?
The best I can figure, the word “Geffenization” comes from David Geffen and/or Geffen Records and refers to the loss of gritty grassroots charm in favor of a glitzier style. Kind of over-polishing.
Interestingly, it was Geffen Records that carried Nirvana when they hit it big with Nevermind, which lends more meaning to the lyrics “I’m lookin’ for nirvana but you Geffenize me”.
Hope that helps!
