Well, it’s beryllium of course, so be in its natural state is 4 protons and 4 electrons. because neutrons have no charge, i won’t mention them. be in its natural state is neutral. however if you were to turn it into an ion we would make it be- with 4 protons and 5 electrons, with is negative. remember you can never change the amount of protons, otherwise it would be a completely different element and is not possible. hope this .
