Item lost in post – PayPal ?

I sold an item online and posted it with Royal Mail. The money from the sale is on hold in my PayPal balance until it is received – however the item appears to be lost in post as it has been almost 3 weeks since I posted and the buyer has not received the item and the tracking has not updated. 

You need to speak to Royal Mail and get a refund for the postage cost & item value. 
And separately, you need to refund the buyer, as it’s not their fault your item hasn’t arrived.
