the equivalent capacitances between
C and 3uf in series:
= 14*3/(14 + 3)
= 2.47 uF
the previous and 6uF in parallel:
= 2.47 + 6
= 8.47 uF
the previous and 20 uF in series:
= 8.47*20/(8.47 + 20)
= 5.95 uF, equivalent capacitance between points a and b
b)
the charge between points a and b
= 5.95*15
= 89.26 uC
the charge on 20 uF
= 89.26 uC
the charge on parallel capacitors
= 89.26 uC
the voltage across parallel capacitors
= 89.26/8.47
= 10.54 v
the charge on 6 uF
= 6*10.54
= 63.22 uC
the charge on series capacitors
= 2.47*10.54
= 26.03 uC
the charge on 3 uF
= 26.03 uC
the charge on C
= 26.03 uC
