how far is 500 feet???

i cant really visualize how far 500 feet away is there a example of how far 500 feet is. i know theres a map like yahoo(but not yahoo) that you could just drag a little line and it will tell you how far it is so if any of you have an example or know of that map plzzzzzzzz tell me thanks

go on google maps find your street, change to satellite view and zoom in there will be a bar at the bottom left telling you distance.. then go stand and look
