Cinema 4D: Unable to write file. How to fix?

People Reviews

I made a little animation in Maxon Cinema 4D but everytime I go to render the animation as a video, I always get an error message saying “Unable to write file.” My render settings are as follows:

Well, before anything, update the codec package. (google.com/search?q=k-lite+codec+pack+download)
Now reduce the settings to something like 480p.
Then set output to a different drive and then try again.
If it doesn’t take some time to render, it is not creating an avi file.
Try this, if you still can’t manage to render properly, reinstall c4d with all the appropriate external renderers.

Source(s): I use C4D.

It’s possible that you need to run it as administrator or have a “bunk” copy. Also, which I doubt this is the problem, but you may be using the wrong version, ie Cinema 4d 64-bit on only a 32-bit machine.
