I’ve been on probation for six months now, half of my probation sentence for a dui, and I’m just wondering how often my color will be called for random screening, and how to go about getting my probation mitigated.
You broke the law (DUI) and violated the terms of your probation (Cough syrup) and you think you have a chance of getting the remaining six months mitigated?
Take the time to serve the probation and learn from it. Nobody ever thinks their time spent in circumstances such as this is worth it and presents a hardship case but the fact is…you did the crime and you now have to do the time.
It’s not easy but has to be done. Sorry.
Color Code Drug Testing
God how I hate intolerant a**holes who think that they are perfect. I spent 5 years on probation for stealing to provide for my kids. And YES I had two jobs AND I was going to college at the same time. So to the person who thinks “you do the crime” bullsh**. Seriously get a life. Mommy and Daddy must have supported your a** or you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth. NOT all of us have it so lucky. NOT all of us are perfect and make mistakes. If you can’t be sympathetic then just F*ck off and keep your opinions to yourself! Save it for the murderers, ʀᴀᴘιsтs, and child abusers.
To the person asking the question. Unfortunately, most of the time you are treated like sh*t because you made a mistake. However, you do not have to take it. Talk to her supervisor. Ask to be moved to another officer. I, luckily, got a great PO and the whole thing was pretty much a breeze. I only had to see them once a month. In my state, they even come to your house to do random checks. I’m not sure about how often they do it, but I just had to comment on the holier than thou a**hole. Some people just don’t understand how you are treated when something bad happens. Good luck and stay strong!
my friend got a color assignment. he was called once or twice a week.
cough syrup is a common thing for people to use to mask the use of alcohol. its the oldest trick ever. thats why most places say that they don’t care how sick you are, or how much cough syrup you drank, a positive is a positive.
there are many people in the world that were not supported by their parents, went to school, and have kids that did not get in trouble with the law.
you are an idiot.

What our team says
About how often will my color be called for probation drug testing?
Probation is a critical stage in the criminal justice system that can determine if someone will serve time in prison or receive probation. In order to ensure that those on probation are following the terms of their sentence, drug testing is often required. Probation departments across the country are constantly updating their drug testing policies in an effort to cover as many bases as possible.
How often will my probation drug test be done?
Probation drug testing is a common requirement during the probation period of a criminal case. Probation officers will often test individuals for drugs of abuse at regular intervals. Depending on the offense and the individual, the probation officer may require tests for as few as once a month or as many as every six months.
What are the different types of drug tests that can be conducted?
There are many different types of drug tests that can be conducted, depending on the substance that is being tested for. Probation drug testing can often involve a variety of different tests, including hair, urine, and blood tests. Depending on the type of test being conducted, the frequency with which it will be used can vary.
How do I prepare for a drug test?
There is no one answer to this question since the frequency with which a drug will be tested can vary depending on the specific situation. However, some tips on how to prepare for a probation drug test may include:
1. Do your research. Know what drugs are typically tested for and find out which ones are most likely to be used in your case.
2. Get familiar with the test process. Learn about the specific types of tests that will be used and know what to do if you are selected for testing.
3. Bring accurate information. Make sure to bring any relevant medical records, prescription medications, and dietary supplements with you when you undergo testing.
4. Be prepared for the test results. Understand how the results will be interpreted and take appropriate steps based on the results.
What are the penalties for refusing a probation drug test?
If you refuse to take a probation drug test, the penalties can range from a administrative suspension to a criminal conviction. Administrative suspensions are typically issued as punishment for parole violations or other violations of probation, and they can range from a few days to several months. Criminal convictions can occur if you’re found guilty of drug possession or use while on probation. In most cases, the punishment for refusing a probation drug test will depend on the type of drug involved and your criminal history.
If you are employed and require drug testing as a part of your job, you likely know that it is not uncommon for your employer to require that you pass a probationary period in order to prove that you are fit for the job. During this time, your employer will likely require regular drug tests in order to monitor your sobriety. While it is impossible to predict how often drug testing will occur during the probationary period, it is usually called for at least once per quarter. If you have any questions about when drug testing might be required or what type of drugs may be tested for, contact your employment lawyer or human resources department.
